The following rabbits are under the care of Kelly Lehrian, AFRP board
member and owner of Posh Pets.
All the rabbits are located at
Posh Pets, 160 Fountain Ave., in Pacific Grove or are in foster care. Please stop into
Posh Pets to meet the adoptable rabbits or call Posh Pets at (831) 375-7387 or
email kelly@lehrian.com.
These rabbits were rescued from animal shelters because they were at risk of being euthanized due to space and time constraints at the shelters. We do not accept rabbits from the public. In order to ensure that a rabbit is the right match for your family, potential adopters are required to go through an interview process and fill out an application. All rabbits are adopted out as house rabbits only. For more information about owning a house rabbit go to The House Rabbit Society. All rabbits have been spayed/neutered and come with a free exam from the Avian and Exotic Clinic in Monterey. The adoption fee is $50-$65. The adoption fee helps to cover the cost of the care the animal has received. Check out our new Bunny Blog |

Pepe does need a little help keeping his eyes clean due to the tilt making it difficult for him to groom his face. He loves to eat veggies and enjoys being held. Pepe is currently stretching his legs in a foster home to meet this sweet guy contact Kelly at Posh Pets. |

Muggins Hi! My name is Muggins! They called me Smokey at the shelter, but my foster mom says there is already a Smokey at Friendly Farms, so I will be called Muggins from now on! I came to Friendly Farms with an wound on my back from a fight with my brother. I had surgery and am now all healed and ready to go. For now, I am enjoying my stay at Friendly Farms, but when my foster mom tells me how good life will be at my forever home, I can hardly wait! Will you be the person to share love and good times with me for the rest of my life? Won't you consider adding me to your family? |
Carmen Are you ready for some sizzle in your life? This lovely girl is full of spice! Carmen is a gorgeous English spot mix girl who loves to be in on the action! She has many interests that she enjoys spending time at everyday- running, digging, playing with her toys, and redecorating, to name a few. Her favorite thing of all, however, is staying alert to the goings on of the household to make sure she doesn’t miss out on anything! Carmen would do best with a family who can give her lots of space, and is bunny experienced. We will gladly assist her new parents in discovering entertaining ways to channel her energy into appropriate activities. For more information about Carmen, please contact us at Friendly Farms. Carmen has been spayed. |

Drake and Donna Drake and Donna are a lovely couple, both about 1 1/2 years old now. Drake is the handsome agouti boy on the left, and Donna is the pretty English spot mix girl on the right. They are currently in foster care here at Friendly Farms. Donna and Drake are very neat and clean bunnies- great with their litterbox. They are charming to watch together, eating, grooming, and cuddling. They both enjoy lots of strokes and are always up for a tasty parsley snack! Donna and Drake are independent bunnies who love to run and play. They are both medium sized rabbits, about 5 1/2 lbs., and make a striking couple. They lived with dogs in their last home, and would be happy to share a family with a well-behaved dog again. If you are interested in giving this sweet pair a safe indoor home, where they will be a well-loved part of the family, contact us here at Friendly Farms for more information. |
Andre Andre was one of the nine baby bunnies left at Monterey County Animal Services in September of 2007. He had a bad case of vasculitis in his ears when he arrived, and was on medication for several weeks to clear that up (thank you Dr. Davis for saving his life!). He lost the end of his right ear to the disease, but is now a healthy, happy bunny looking forward to a long, active life as part of a loving family. This blue-eyed boy is fully grown now. He is a quiet boy, not demanding of attention. Andre enjoys having lots of play time to scamper around, and then happily settles in for a good ear rub. Andre has been neutered and is in foster care at Friendly Farms. Contact us if you would like to get to know this sweetie! |
Annabelle Annabelle is a stunning New Zealand White girl found in a strawberry field. She enjoys having her ears rubbed and being told how beautiful she is. Annabelle is a good sized rabbit- about 8 lbs. now that she has reached her full adult weight. Big bunnies like her often make the best family pets as children may be less likely to try to pick them up than a small rabbit. Many tragedies occur when bunnies are accidentally dropped or mishandled by children. While parental supervision to ensure that bunny is always treated gently is the best prevention, adopting a larger rabbit can also be a good choice for families with younger children. Annabelle needs a home where she will have lots of bunny-safe room to run and play everyday and a space to call her own when she is unsupervised. She has been spayed and is ready to go home with someone who can see just how special she is. Contact us at Friendly Farms for more information. |

Hector Hector was found by highway 101 in Prunedale. He was very dirty when he arrived at the shelter, but soon shed his old coat and is now clean and handsome again. Despite all that he has been through, Hector is a very friendly boy who is interested in meeting new people. As soon as he knows that you will be kind to him, he settles in for strokes and enjoys the attention for as long as you will pet him. Hector has been neutered and is ready to leave his rough past behind and move on to a loving, safe, indoor home. He would also be interested in meeting some eligible bunny girls who like a guy tough enough to make it in a sometimes cruel world. For more information about Hector, contact us here at Friendly Farms. |

Madeline Madeline, (meaning blessed) a Harlequin lop girl born 8-15-2008. She is a bit sad. She truly needs loads of love and support. Did you know that Harlequin's have a history of bringing good luck and fortune wherever they go? She will definitely bring good fortune your way! Madeline says: "My entire family was being sold as food outside of a store.! A nice lady saved our lives, by buying all of us and we found our way to the Haven. It was very scared then. Now I am feeling better and I feel more and relaxed and playful every minute! Right now I am growing and learning that happiness is possible for me! I am looking for a kind, caring person to love me. I need patience and understanding. I love my foster mum - she loves me and gives me lots of kisses and good food and toys! Although I'm already a very big girl, I need unlimited alfalfa hay and alfalfa pellets to grow strong. I need plenty of room to romp. No cages for me. My mom weighed about 12 pounds, and I hope to get as big as her. I am ready and I am looking for my forever home" Please contact Heather with The Rabbit Haven at (831) 239-7119 or email director@therabbithaven.org |
Simona Hello, my name is Sweet Simona. You can see a picture of me here with some of my babies. I am an adorable, loving girl. (spayed). I have a lovely coat of fur that is gray, with gold mixed in and brown. My foster mom says I am beautiful. I was rescued from a shelter in November of 2008 with my nine babies. That was a miracle! Then, only four weeks later I had an entire new litter of kits! Total 20 in all. Anyway, I am on my own now and all my little ones are in good care. Now, it is my turn. I am now in foster care - just me! I love attention. I am looking for a wonderful, loving home where I can hang out with a peaceful person or family. I like soft music and even TV - I have not been around dogs or cats yet so I do not know what I think of that. I am still a little shy but I love to be held and to hear a soft reassuring voice. I have a very good appetite and love greens and loads of hay . I learned how to play with toys, that is fun. I like the wicker tent and balls especially. I love the feel of gentle pets too. Please contact Heather with The Rabbit Haven at (831) 239-7119 or email director@therabbithaven.org |
Buddha Adopted Hello, I'm beloved Buddha. As you can see from my picture, I am an adorable & handsome long haired boy bunny. They say that beauty is only fur deep but I am living proof that I am just as beautiful inside. I am a LOVE button, so be prepared. Sitting on your lap might be okay with other bunnies but I expect more. I want to snuggle up in your loving arms & have my head stroked and I also like soft talk. Then I show my appreciation by purring with my teeth and snuggling in even more. I require daily grooming and pampering to maintain my movie star good looks. My foster mom is my own personal hair stylist. She can give you lesson how to blow dryer and comb my beautiful long fur It's important that you are gentle because, like all bunnies, my skin is delicate and sensitive. Once you get the hang of it, grooming is easy. I even help by sitting still for you. I look Fabulous… so soft and fluffy! My other daily regiment is to clean around my one eye that has a slight tear every day!. It's quick & easy. My foster mom can show you how. I don't wear glasses because I can see & function just fine. I have a very special doctor now it is Dr Harvey. Dr Harvey is trying to determine why my one eye leaks, but we know it's not contagious to other bunnies. And my eye is not hurt. I just have tearing that occurs. That is all. Please contact Heather with The Rabbit Haven at (831) 239-7119 or email director@therabbithaven.org |

Nadia and Keiffer This is a wonderful bonded pair of rabbits that just need some reassurance that they will be able to stay in their new home without fear of losing it. Please contact Heather with The Rabbit Haven at (831) 239-7119 or email director@therabbithaven.org |

He is full of energy and barely slows down to be petted. He is a tiny velvety soft little guy and is very easy to handle. He is doing well with is litter box and will be an expert soon. He enjoys tunnels, cardboard boxes, and checking out all of the cat toys at the shelter. He is very social and wants to visit with other shelter rabbits and should be easy to bond with a spayed female bunny. Golda Mydear Golda Mydear is a lovely golden girl with a sunny disposition. She uses her litter box and loves greens and loads of attention. Golda seems OK with cats and adults. She might be good for a male rabbit looking for a friend. She is spayed and about one year old. She is so healthy she glows! Golda enjoys playtime and petting and snuggle time too. She'd make a great TV companion. She lives in a precision pen with sheets for a floor. Her habitat includes crocks for food and water and a large hay basket. She'd love a home with gentle people and plenty of toys. Please contact Heather with The Rabbit Haven at (831) 239-7119 or email director@therabbithaven.org |
