Looking For a Home

Chloe isn't noisy, doesn't beg to go outside, never nips and saves her clawing for the scratching post. What a nice cat! Her favorite place to be is snug on your lap, where she is guaranteed to get lots of petting and brushing. She loves attention but isn't demanding about it. If you are busy, Chloe is happy to take a nap or play with a toy mousie.

Originally an abandoned mother cat with a single kitten, Chloe came to us from the Monterey County Animal Services back in August of 2007. She was gracious enough to raise an orphaned kitten alongside her own. Once her kittens were adopted, Chloe was hoping her turn would come. But nine months later, Chloe is still waiting.

Chloe is perfectly healthy but at some point in her life she probably had a bad cold that wasn't treated and damaged her tear ducts. Because of this Chloe's tears don't drain well, and she needs a little help every day keeping the fur under her eyes clean and dry. No big deal, but something her adopter needs to keep in mind.

Chloe is a huge love once she gets to know you and feels safe, but she can be a bit skittish in new situations, and is uncomfortable around people with loud voices. She would do best in a fairly quiet adult indoor home as a single pet - she gets hissy around other cats and dogs.

Chloe is currently in foster care in Pacific Grove. If you are interested in meeting her, please give us a call at 831-333-0722 or fill out an online adoption application.

Every Life Counts

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. Chloe is anxious to find a permanent home because although she's off the streets and safe--she'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. She wants to find a special family to call her own.

AFRP depends on volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,900 dogs and cats each year. Won't you help us save more animals like Chloe?
