Looking For a Home

We wish Ebony could tell us how she ended up on the street, but sadly, all we know is that she was taken to the Monterey County Animal Services after being picked up as a stray. It's hard to believe that nobody was looking for their lost friendly, fluffy black pup, but Ebony went through her stray period hoping for a familiar face - but nobody ever came for her. Now Ebony is with AFRP and is eager for a fresh start and a lifelong home.

Ebony is a happy, enthusiastic 10-12 month old Chow mix who would be the perfect summertime companion for walking, hiking and trips to the beach. She loves to ride in the car, and at 35 pounds is a nice portable size to go everywhere with you. Ebony crates easily and is eager to please. She will sit on command, and is ready to learn more. She'll no doubt be a wonderful pupil at obedience classes. Ebony loves to interact with other playful dogs, but does chase cats and we are recommending that she go to a feline-free home.

Ebony is a healthy young dog, but does have a very sensitive stomach. If she eats food that does not agree with her, she tends to get a bad case of the "runs," poor girl! She is currently eating Hill's Prescription Canine i/d dry food, and is doing great. This food is easily purchased from your vet. She'll need to remain on this food indefinitely to keep her tummy happy.

Ebony would love to meet you! Stop by the AFRP Adoption Center, 560 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove Tuesdays - Saturdays. Ebony is here from 12:00 - 3:30 p.m. on those days. If you think Ebony might be a match for you, please fill out an online adoption application.

Every Life Counts

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. Ebony is anxious to find a permanent home because although she's off the streets and safe--she'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. She wants to find a special family to call her own.

AFRP depends on volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,900 dogs and cats each year. Won't you help us save more animals like Ebony?
