Human Race Participants Raise Over $4,500 for AFRP!
A big thank you to the Santa Cruz Volunteer Center for sponsoring the 2008 Human Race on May 10th. Kay Patel organized a wonderful team of AFRP volunteers who walked 10K from Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz to raise money for homeless dogs and cats. We would also like to thank Jamba Juice manager Amber Adcock and her employees for walking for AFRP, dressed as giant bananas!

- Pacific Coast Church in Pacific Grove for donating space to hold AFRP Volunteer Orientation Meetings.
- Lily Jean, certified therapy dog, for donating $150 to AFRP. Lily Jean helps children by listening to them while they practice reading out loud.
Thank you to following Foundations for their grants to AFRP in 2008:
- The E.R. McCown Family Fund of the Community Foundation of Monterey County for $30,000 to provide funding for major and minor medical expenses of the dogs and cats rescued by AFRP and to help purchase equipment for our office and adoption center.
- The Harden Foundation for $15,000 to help pay for spay/neuter surgeries of the dogs and cats AFRP will rescue in the coming year.
- The Perrine Charitable Foundation for $7,200 to help pay for boarding expenses for three rescued dogs every month.

our garage sale to benefit the Feral Cat Fund:
