Breed: Siberian Husky
Weight: 40 lbs
Posted 7-1-20. Lucky is a beautiful 2-year-old, 40-pound spayed female Husky looking for a loving home. She is a very loving and high-energy dog. She loves to play and run with her family and enjoys a big back yard. She is a great match for a runner - she can go for miles! Lucky is crate trained for indoors and needs extra help with being house trained. Lucky is good with children but is interested in chasing cats and squirrels and would be best in a home as a single dog. She was adopted from the Salinas Animal Shelter right before the pandemic closed the shelter, and she's in need of a new home due to some issues getting along with the other female dog in the home. She's looking for an active adopter that can provide her room to run and play, along with continued training and behavior modification. Lucky is not an AFRP dog and currently lives in Salinas. Breed: Lab/Pit mix
Weight: 15 lbs.
Posted 2-5-20. Hershey is a silly and fun-loving, tennis ball-chasing, most affectionate lab/pit mix you'll ever meet! He's a 6-year-old, 70-pound neutered male and is in good health and is up to date on vaccines. Hershey loves people he's completely house trained. He is very smart and knows ten basic obedience commands - very trainable and motivated! He LOVES to play fetch! Unfortunately Hershey is not comfortable around young children, and his family is looking for a single adopter or a couple without kids, willing to give him a loving environment and plenty of daily exercise. His current family is willing to help pay for any addition training Hershey needs while adjusting to a new home. Hershey is not an AFRP dog and currently lives in San Francisco. Breed: Doberman Pinscher
Weight: 85 lbs.
Posted 11-20-19. Clarissa is a beautiful 1-year-old, 85-pound purebred Doberman Pinscher looking for a loving home. She is a very smart, energetic and loving dog that is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Because of her size and activity level, she will do best in an adult household with no small kids. She knows her basic obedience command and loves to play fetch. She is learning to heel while on leash. She loves to run and romp in the woods. Clarissa can come on strong with other dogs, but might be fine with a large dog with a similar energy level. She needs at least an hour of running or vigorous exercise every day. She has lived with a confident cat. Clarissa is not an AFRP dog and currently lives in King City. For more information contact Carol at 831-386-9619, 831-385-4781 or 831-214-4960.
Sadie & Sasha
Breed: Airedale terrier mix
Weight: 62 & 54 lbs.
Posted 11-1-19. Sadie and Sasha are a mother/daughter pair that were rescued from the Bakersfield shelter on their kill day. Sadie (mother) is a 1.5-year-old, 62-pound spayed female and Sasha (daughter) is an 11-month-old, 54-pound spayed female. Both are up to date on shots, potty trained, affectionate, smart, sweet and eager to learn and eager to please. They are a bonded pair that truly love each other and would like to be adopted together. This is wonderful because they keep each other company when they are left alone. Both dogs are great with adults and children. Not yet tested with other dogs or cats. Sadie and Sasha are not AFRP dogs and currently live in the San Francisco area. Breed: Pit Bull terrier mix
Weight: 58 lbs.
Posted 10-8-19. Simon is a sweet and loving 58-pound pit bull terrier mix that will be 2 years old on Christmas Day, 2019. He's in need of a new home because his guardian is relocating and cannot take him along. He's a smart and silly guy that gets along great with other dogs, kids and cats. He knows his basic obedience commands and hand signals, and he's pretty reliably house trained. Simon is a healthy dog but was born with a neurological condition that causes his legs to be a little unsteady. His front legs give out from time to time, and his back legs have tremors. He can walk and run with his awkward gait, but long walks are not his thing. He also has an underdeveloped lower jaw, which gives him a big overbite - but he can eat and drink just fine. Simon is neutered and up to date on vaccines. Can you help this special dog? Simon is not an AFRP dog and currently lives in San Jose.
