Adoptable Pets > Dog > Ayla

Hi, I'm Ayla. I was adopted on August 4!

Husky-Cattle Dog Mix

Black, Tan and White

Young, Female

With one brown eye and one baby blue, Ayla is a strikingly beautiful 6-month-old, 33-pound Husky/Cattle Dog Mix (best guess). Ayla came to AFRP from a local vet clinic after being surrendered as a very sick puppy. She beat the odds by overcoming a serious case of parvovirus, a potentially deadly disease that primarily affects unvaccinated puppies. Ayla has made a complete recovery and she’s now a playful, mischievous and affectionate pup that loves giving puppy kisses. Currently in foster care, Ayla is house trained and knows her basic commands sit, down and stay. She loves going for walks and hikes, and she is polite when meeting large or small dogs on her outings. Ayla can be cautious when experiencing something new, but she is a quick learner and she will continue to gain confidence as she experiences more life lessons. She is gentle with children and she has not had experience with cats. Ayla’s favorite activities are going for walks, taking sun baths, playing fetch and tug of war, and playing “keep away” with a napkin or piece of paper when she’s feeling extra naughty. Ayla is looking for an adopter that can spend much of the day with her, make her an integral part of the family, and can continue her training. She will likely do fine with kids over age 8. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved.

Due to COVID and high demand, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
