Hi, I'm Blackburn. Adopt Me!

DSH

Black

Adult, Male

Blackburn is a sleek and shiny 2-year-old black cat with a super sweet and friendly personality. He was adopted from AFRP as a kitten, and returned to our care when his guardian could no longer care for him. Originally from the Salinas Animal Shelter, Blackburn was bottle fed in foster care as a tiny kitten, and he’s grown up to be a happy, affectionate and athletic adult. He enjoys carrying toy mice around in his mouth, and he loves to find a tall shelf or cat tree so he can watch the world from on high. Blackburn loves people and is a fabulous companion, but he is anxious around other cats and dogs, and he needs to be a single pet in the home. His litter box habits are great as long as his person uses Dr. Elsey’s Cat Attract litter and continues to keep him on Hill’s Urinary Care C/D cat food. Like many cats, Blackburn can nip when overstimulated, and he’ll do best in an adult household or with kids over age 10. Named for a variety of tropical Butterflyfish, Blackburn is ready to dive into your heart and home! He is looking for a forever home or a temporary foster home – let us know if you can help this wonderful cat!

Please note: Due to COVID-19, preference is given to residents of Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
