Make a "Compassionate Choice" Adoption
(adoption fee waived on several special cats and dogs)

From time to time adoption fees are waived for a few cats and dogs who have been with AFRP for quite some time. This program enables us to free up space to rescue more cats and dogs and at the same time find good homes for harder to place cats and dogs.

AFRP would like you to consider making a "Compassionate Choice" by adopting a wonderful pet into your family. Though there will be no adoption fee charged, this is not a free pet giveaway. Potential adopters will be carefully screened, and only good homes that are a good match for the pet will qualify.

Adult cats are often overlooked, especially if they are shy, older or have special needs. Large, mixed breed dogs are often overlooked because so many people are looking for small dogs.

We have a lifetime commitment to the animals that come into our care, but the sooner an animal is in their permanent home, the better off they'll be. Many of our Compassionate Choice cats and dogs have been waiting for a home for many months. Although they do get some respite from life in the adoption center from our foster homes, or outings from being in boarding, moving around does take it's toll, and the animals can start to get depressed.

Save a life by adopting a Compassionate Choice cat or dog. Even though the animals in our care are not in danger of euthanization, the longer that they are in our care the fewer animals we can rescue from the shelters. Please consider making a "compassionate choice," and help a cat or dog in need. Please email us at info@animalfriendsrescue.org or call us at (831) 333-0722 if you are interested in adopting one of our "Compassionate Choice" pets.

Every Life Counts

AFRP has a lifetime commitment to every animal that comes into our care. We do not put animals down because they have been with us too long or have special medical needs. These cats are anxious to find a permanent home because although they're off the streets and safe--they'll quickly tell you that being an orphan is not fun. They want to find a special family to call their own.

AFRP depends on foster volunteers and donations from the general public to rescue approximately 1,500 dogs and cats each year.  Won't you help us save more animals like these?
