Animal Friends Rescue Project has been a lifesaving force in Pacific Grove since 1998, dedicated to giving homeless dogs and cats their best chance to find forever homes. It's a great place to find your new best friend! Each adoptable dog or cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Nurtured in foster homes, our animals get a head start on training and manners, which makes their transition to their forever home go very smoothly.

The adoption process begins with an online dog or cat application. Once we have that, a representative will be in touch to answer questions and arrange meet and greets.

In addition to adoptions by appointment, AFRP operates satellite cat adoption centers at Pet Food Express in Carmel and at Petco in Monterey.
