Adopt a dog and save a life

You can save the life of a dog by choosing to adopt. When you adopt an animal from Animal Friends, sharing your life with an amazing new companion is just the beginning. As a new adopter, you become part of an extraordinary community of people devoted to their own pets — and to saving the lives of others. Indeed, you become part of the Animal Friends family.

We’re with you every step of the way to provide guidance and answer questions as your pet adjusts to being in a new home. Learn more about our adoption process-click here

If you aren't sure about adoption yet, we do have a foster-to-adopt program.

What is foster-to-adopt?

Foster-to-adopt is a great way to learn if one of our cats or dogs is a good fit for your family prior to committing to adoption. When you foster-to-adopt, you take the animal home for a short, pre-determined period of time before deciding whether the relationship is meant to be. To get started please complete both a foster application (click here), and an adoption application (click here).

Why should you foster-to-adopt?

  • The animal will relax in your home and show its true personality.

  • You’ll confirm that the pet is a good fit for your lifestyle and gets along with all members of your family, both two and four-legged.

Which animals are eligible for the foster-to-adopt program?

Eligibility is at the discretion of AFRP. In general, adult animals who have been waiting for a home for 6 months or longer are eligible. Puppies and kittens younger than six months of age are not eligible for this program. When an animal becomes eligible, we will update their profile on our website.

We also provide courtesy listings to owners seeking to rehome their resident pets. To view them click here, and if you're interested in any of the owned pets please reach out directly to their owners.
